| | | Re: seals at Donna nook It was a great day today, weather was lovely and the effect of the tide surge seems to be more water around and a few dead pups (which I saw last time In was there). There are still laods of seals. I got lots of photos at all focal lengths. |

| | | Re: seals at Donna nook Yep, just as Neil says, very good numbers of seals there and high numbers of pups with their mums, some of them as fat as footballs! Some pups certainly were lost to the high tide which is sad but if you didn't know it had happened you couldn't tell by looking at the colony.
My images are downloading and it'll take me a while to edit them down to manageable numbers but I'll try and pick a few of my favourites to post later this evening.
By the way Neil, I've got your chocolate bar - you'll never see it again!

| | | Re: seals at Donna nook Great pics! I love the female biting a male Durrell, ouch! and the pup with head in the fence, We went there on the 20th, before the high tide and this time I was able to see lots of behaviour. We had a fantastic day and the kids loved it. I am glad there haven't been too many losses and things have gone back to normal. I did a little summary with photos in Wild at Hull: Wild at Hull: Watching Grey Seal behaviour at Donna Nook

| | | Re: seals at Donna nook A few more from me! Firstly these two are doing what you think they're doing...
And here's some more pups all taken down at the 16mm end of my wide-angle zoom...
