Great story good on Brian May but I really think they should have been given a jail sentence its not a deterrent to other scum bags there have been a few weird mindless acts of cruelty a wallaby was killed and mutilated and its mate was left distressed and had to be sedated and two parrots had their feet cut off and just left to die they had to be put to sleep as there was nothing the vets could do..
So I think when they do catch the culprits more should be done not just let off with a suspended jail sentence.

Suspended jail sentence means that they walk free, having been told that they'd perhaps been a teensy bit naughty!

I fully agree that the sentence in no way fits the crime and that custodial jail sentences should be given in extreme animal cruelty cases, but at least the police acted and the person was sent through the court system. Most times, they’re just given a talking to without being charged.

This person now has a criminal record on file and hopefully will think twice about commiting any such future crimes. I hope it works like that....

These people should be fined and the contribution given to rescue centres, or they should do some work for them either helping or raising funds for at least a year.
