| | | Mink scat confirmation please
The second (out of focus, unfortunately) shows what looks to me like water vole fur, though it could be bank vole. The scat was under a bridge where mink and otter have historically sprainted, but I just wanted to see what others think. Oh, and it didn't smell of anything, I suppose because it was a week old (I looked last week and the bridge was clear). |

| | | Re: Mink scat confirmation please Yes these look typical of a mink scat to me. Hard to comment on the fur in the out-of focus photo. The light coloured looks like bank vole, but the darker/greyer could be water vole or perhaps more likely rabbit. |

| | | Re: Mink scat confirmation please Looks good for Mink, the scat above the rule is thin and if seen alone might suggest Stoat but with the others, probably Mink. Could be both of course! |

| | | Re: Mink scat confirmation please Thanks. Juvenile mink might produce thin scat, and it's the time of year when young adults look for new territories, I think? |

So there will be plenty of movement at this time of year. |
