| | Do mice hop? At first sight, it appeared to be a small bird. A fledgeling sparrow? But in October. Hopping away from me on a oak forest path. But it is a small mammal. Hopping. When I got closer, it crept into the grass like any mouse or vole. Do mice hop? |

| | | Re: Do mice hop? Yes, they do hop. Woodmice and Yellow-necked Mice hop like minature kangaroos! I was once checking a Dormouse box when a Yellow-necked sprang at me from the box and must have leapt a metre into the air over my head. I regularly see Woodmice hopping across the back lanes at night.
