| | | ANALOOK Converting WAV to Zero-Crossing? Hello all. I am new to the site so hello to all!
I have a batbox duet and edirol rh05 recorder.
Does anyone know how to convert WAV files to zero-crossing files so that I can use ANALOOK to analyse bat calls ?
surely there must be a way of doing this but I have little experience with file types/conversions.
Hope somebody can help!
many thanks indeed! |

| | | Re: ANALOOK Converting WAV to Zero-Crossing? Do you have CF read? I usually download them from the anabat through CF read then open them in analook. I tend to analyse bat calls from heterodyne detectors on bat sound. |

| | | Re: ANALOOK Converting WAV to Zero-Crossing? I think I have misunderstood you. Your wanting to analyse recordings from a heterodyne detector on analook? You basically need a sound converter I believe. You can download them from the internet, this will convert your WAV files into whichever type of file you need. I am not too familiar with doing it this way as I use other programs, but there are plenty of bat enthusiasts on here which may know more. CF read, reads the storage card from an Anabat and converts it for use in analook.

Maybe I am not so good at explaining:
Yes using a Batbox Duet (Het and Freq Division) I want to convert the calls generated in Frequency division and analyse them with Analook.
Cf read - hmm so CF read converts to zero crossing?
I am still no closer to being able to analyse bat calls 3 months on as I cannot solve this dilemma |

| | | Re: ANALOOK Converting WAV to Zero-Crossing? Can you analyse files like this in Analook?
As I said I use WAV files from a detector in batsound, if batsound is to expensive are there cheaper alternatives? I think you could possibly analyse bat calls with simple music sampling software. Your only looking for frequency, range, call duration, speed etc which can all be done using these kinds of programs. I may be wrong but I thought analook was the software for anabat rather than generic sampling software? |

Analook is for Anabat of course! Your right..
however if one can work out how to convert WAV to Zero-crossing then you should be able to use Analook to analyse all bat calls recorded on other instruments...
I just do not have enough experience with analook or with computer files to know how to do this but it cannot be that difficult....anyone?
many thanks in advance! |
