| | | When oh when will they ban snares? Isnt it about time, arguably the cruelist thing is banned full stop, reading the legeslalion out there on snares and the correct legal use of them, surely it would be much better to ban them completley?
We do not have place for these horrible cruel things in modern life sureley?

| | | Re: When oh when will they ban snares? In a word, no
in longer words a stopped or free running snare is not inherently cruel (self locking snares are but they are already banned) so long as they are used responsibly and checked regularly and fox control is regreatably sometimes necessary and shooting not always practical.
many wildlife trusts and other nature conservation bodies use snare lines for fox control to protect terneries and other ground nesting birds.
My general feeling is that many of those who oppose their use probably have never actually seen one responsibly set or have any idea what they are talking about beyond the propoganda images on the extremist websites , most of which feature animals caught in a locking snare.
