15mm long. We live next to fields and a canal but it doesn't look like the rat droppings I've seen (we had one as a pet too - I've lots of experience we rat ....  )
If needs be one can be disected - the Missus  can help

Go on - you know you want the missus to put it in a milk bottle with a weak bleach solution and give it right good agitation then tip the contents onto a stacked couple of kitchen roll squares.

The moth is Endrosis sarcitrella, very commn species inside buildings, also one which is attracted to pellets, birds nests etc as its larvae lives on them. |

Lots of magpies though and where it was thats the most suitable culprit
The moth just sat on it while I was taking the piccie,we get plenty in the house but never looked em up.
