| | | Re: Foxes vs vegetables! I'm a bit of a sop when it comes to the foxes - I think they're fine to live with us (just might have to put up with a torn up garden!) especially as a housing development is happening a few streets over which is probably destroying a fox den as we'd seen foxes going in and out of the overgrown garden... I guess they don't have too many places to go judging by our neighbours' reactions towards them... I am thinking about placing chicken wire over the soil and weighting it down with bricks after it's been planted/sown as then they can't dig down and make big holes - or can they? maybe an experiment needed ... |

| | | Re: Foxes vs vegetables! Hello! This is my first post. I was just wondering if you have considered using an electic fence of the type used for farm animals that runs off a leisure battery? These are of course non-lethal and could be placed so that the hedgehogs could fit underneath. Just a thought |

| | | Re: Foxes vs vegetables! Hi chrissy,
Thanks for the idea and good to meet you on here!
I may research if we have more next year and possibly redesign the veggie area to cordon it off more...
Have bought a bamboo cloche and it's great but I wish the hedgehogs could get in to eat the pests! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
