| | | Re: small hoglet The best course of action is to get it to a local rescuer. We are still getting juveniles in that are struggling and even though some seem to have sustained no injuries they do have issues.
Until you can get it to a local rescuer keep it as you are. Pop something like ripped up newspaper (ripped into strips) or pop an old towel in so it has something to snuggle into / underneath. Try to make sure that water is in a bowl that it can't tip. They often do tip the water and if the hog has issues being wet all night won't help. (but wet is better than no water)
It may be too late tonight for a local rescuer but the BHPS has a list on their site and if you ring them in the morning they carry a much larger list than on the website.
Please let us know how you get on. |

| | | Re: small hoglet The BHPS has Ray Jackson on 01565 755 082 listed for Cheshire.
I do have a couple more not advertised numbers for Cheshire if you have no joy with Ray.
IM if you need them. |

| | | Re: small hoglet Hi tigertom, just picked up your PM (been blowing up balloons ready for my son’s 10th Birthday tomorrow!). Well done for rescuing the hoglet, sounds like you’re doing an excellent job tending to his needs and keeping him comfortable . I can’t add anything further to Charlie’s great advice, other than to ensure the hoglet has some form of bedding in the cat carrier to snuggle into, eg. a small handtowel, or some crumpled sheets of newspaper + torn strips of newspaper (which you've probably provided anyway!). If he still feels cold to the touch (feel his tummy & feet), place a hot water bottle (or even plastic pop bottle filled with hot water) wrapped in a small towel at the far back of the cat carrier, ensuring he has enough room to move away from the heat source if he gets too hot ~ but the fact he's eaten something would suggest he's no longer feeling cold (they're unable to eat/drink if too cold).
I was going to suggest contacting Lower Moss Wood » Wildlife Hospital, but have just noted that Ray Jackson (whom Charlie mentioned above) is the warden there anyway! So I reckon you’ll get some good help there in the morning.
Good luck, let us know how you get on. |

| | | Re: small hoglet Aaaw, your poor cat! I’m sure he won’t mind finding somewhere else to sleep just for tonight, as it's for a worthy cause . If he's anything like my 4 rescue cats, he'll only sulk for a few hours!!
Just to mention, I didn’t see your post no. 4 until just now (I must have been cross-posting with you at the time), hence my mentioning bedding & warmth The food you're feeding is perfect btw. |
