Some don't seem bothered at all and don't notice whereas for the otter that you mention it seems to catch its attention.
Another thing I have had discussions with friends about is whether the pictures that are included in the video are mink or otter as it is quite hard to tell. If anyone has any ideas it would be great to hear from you! |

| | | Re: Otters on camera trap The video clips are clearly otter as you can see the sturdiness of the body and the pale pelage, but I agree the stills could be mink - it's not clear. If you can't tell how large they are, and you can't see the white flash under their chin (and anyway, not all mink have one) then it can be tricky. Generally mink are much more slender than otters as well as smaller in length.
Lovely vid, though. |

| | | Re: Otters on camera trap Lovely video.
It's certainly mink from 0:30 through to 0:48 and looks to be a male because 0:34 - 0:35 shows a big pair of danglies and mink from 1:50 to 1:52. |

| | | Re: Otters on camera trap We recently returned to the camera trap and found it covered in mud. When we checked the videos everything was explained. The otters can be very inquisitive and it was nice to see that when they realised it is not a threat they enjoyed a quick play with it.
