I am. however, less than impressed by people who say "I don't want to see the evidence, I've made up my mind."
I hope none of you end up before a jury of your peers.

I do agree though that to close our eyes and not look can sometimes allow this kind of cruelty to carry on. I have MADE myself watch some horrific scenes over the years and it has helped me to write many letters and campaign as hard as i can NOT to let this go on.
I'm afraid i'm not very eloquent in expressing myself.....what i'm trying to say is sometimes we need to get angry and upset so that when we do have a chance to change some of these practices we can make it heartfelt and send a clear message to those that need to know how we feel . I hope that makes sense

I hope none of you end up before a jury of your peers. | I have see the pics of stills of the video so I have seen the evidence..
You don't have to watch this appalling video to make up your mind or have an opinion on these bullies that work with animals that they have to beat to make them feel like big men I would like to come face to face with these blokes and I will show them who has the B***s

I hope that makes sense | I too struggle to watch acts of animal cruelty, but the most upsetting and un-nerving aspect of this is (especially this case) is that the governments own Animal Welfare minister is perfectly willing to turn a blind eye and no prosecutions will come about. We all have ideals and with respect to our political choices, but so far on the basis of this and the possible return of fox hunting, I will never, ever vote for conservatives as long as I live. I would prefer labours debt ridden society than one that endorses animal cruelty.
The fact that these things happens is indeed very sad, but it is also very sad that a high percentage of our society wouldnt give a second thought to this issue and it would be too much trouble to try and do somethng as simple as an email or phone call to an mp.
So long as the product is cheap, who cares how we get it or how it was treated before it ended up on our plates. |

They get scared we could all revolt and we could bring this country to its knees like they have in other countries..
Who cares about animals they are not worth anything life is playground for the Eaton boys its not reality they want to go hunting for fun on horses and drink Champagne they don't know what real lives in the real world is.. |

Ric | What is your point...
Yes I am a parent and my kids are grown up now what has this got to do with Halal meat, my kids schools didn't have meals at school it was all packed lunches so this is not true in the schools here.
If this is true then it should be banned its a religious ritual that should not be forced onto our children if in later life they want to follow such religions then so be it but not in schools where they have no choice is this not against their human right to eat what meat the want to killed the way they want with the least suffering as possible.
This is why the slaughter houses have to clean up their act. |

This is why the slaughter houses have to clean up their act. | That is my point! The edict was handed down from on high quite recently. It's cheaper to buy all meat from a single source, so schools now buy all halal meat rather than catering for all needs separately. I am strongly of the opinion that halal and kosher killing inflict unnecessary suffering and should be banned in a civilised country. We have specified standards and if an abattoir is proved in court to have failed to meet those standards they should be punished accordingly. So why encourage an intrinsically cruel method of slaughter?
I fear tempers are rising so will drop out of this thread.

Ric | Tempers are not rising I agree wholeheartedly with you I just wondered where that came from that's all as its nothing to do with the cruelty inflicted on the animals in this abattoir your argument is a different matter but equally as disturbing.. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
