| | | Dropping ID please Taken today in the middle of a miscanthus field in Northamptonshire. Measured 6cm in length.
Seems like some sought of cereal or nut within it.

| | | Re: Dropping ID please My guess would be fox. Foxes use their scat as a territory marker and so they tend to leave it in conspicuous places (the tuft of cut stems here is ideal). That could be a fruit stone as the colour and texture suggests to me that the fox has been eating a lot of fruit (again, common in late summer).
Cheers,
Marc. |

| | | Re: Dropping ID please Definitely a Fox - round my way, when the carrots are out, Fox droppings will be orange, and when blackberry's are ripe they will be black.
Looks like the Fox has found a plum tree. When a Fox has been eating Moun tain Ash berries, in winter when the droppings are old and dry, the red berries loose their colour and become white or transparent, and when you come across a mass of colourless berries or rather just the skin of the berries you can safely say this is the droppings of a Fox that has been eating Mountain Ash berries.
