White squirrels

Just seen two white squirrels virtually sitting on the same branch.observed both at the same time for at least fifteen minutes. Based in cornwall, near looe. Has any one else seen whites in this area?

I've never seen a white squirrel personally. Must have been quite a sight!

..Hello Howard, and welcome to WAB...how exciting and unusual, could you see if they had pigment in their eyes? I bet you'll be in the same spot at the crack of dawn to see if they are there...maybe they are litter brothers/sisters, or of course one of each....lucky you..I'm soooo jealous..

We have two white squirrels posing for cameras, but they have just introduced what i believe to be their offspring. She/he is black and white

@HMRose, Hi Mr Rose. I am following through your find at the holiday park.I'm big cats at large Cornwall,I investigate big cat sightings and unusual/misplaced sightings of other animals too in the local area and the UK.I study coat genetics so would be interested in any other pictures that you may have in regard to the white squirrels that you very luckily managed to photograph.I'm soo jealous. It 's the parents I would be interested in seeing. The Missouri population of white squirrels just appeared from nowhere and baffled biologists.Look forward to your reply.

I have just seen a white squirrel in the grounds of sheltered housing complex at 77 Barnton Grove.Edinburgh.Scotland.

We have a white squirrel who regularly visits our back garden (Longfield, Kent) and helps himself to food from the bird table!!!

I have had a white squirrel come into my garden pretty much every day for the past month. he is absolutely beautiful. there is also at least 3 grey squirrels too so maybe they are a family. I think he is an albino as his eyes do look a bit pink.

A couple of years ago, my wife was at Keyhaven holiday park in Hastings and rang me to say she'd just seen a white squirrel. The next day, I saw one on the Kent Police HQ estate and a few days later, there was a reported sighting in a different part of the south east on Meridian News. From this, I supposed that they are a lot more common than is generally believed.
