Posie, we would collect from Malvern that isn't too far at all for us.
...OK Charlie, I'll find some and find out when the next show is, see if anyone's going, might not be straight away but will work on ASAP.....Keep up the good work.. ..Posie.. |

| | | Re: A Hedgehog Related plea ....Charlie, Is it only pet carriers that you want, do you use the plastic indoor cages for pets..(small of course, similar size to carriers,) though I guess you stack carriers as they have front access, whereas you couldn't stack some other types....there, I've answered my own question... |

| | | Re: A Hedgehog Related plea Hi Posie,
it is only the carriers that we use, we don't use cages as the hogs will climb them and they can end up with broken legs.
Yes we do stack them with insulation in between to dampen sounds from carrier to carrier and to help retain warmth.
We have been very lucky and have had three carriers brought to us and another nine on the way so we don't need many more now but we will pass any additional carriers onto people who have agreed to be fosterers for us and any extra onto other rescue units.
So other carriers will be useful as we have a few people now that will take hogs off us when off meds to continue to feed them up for release or to hibernate over winter if too light for release.
We have now expanded capacity from 20 odd adult hogs to just over 30 and that sensibly will be all the hogs we can physically treat and keep clean and fed working full time as well running the rescue unit as we both do. We will now also have the ability to move hogs from smaller carriers to larger ones when needed. We will also have capacity for a number of hoglet litters as well.
A big thank you to all WABERS who have contacted us offering help. |

| | Re: A Hedgehog Related plea Hi Charlie and co...so glad you have had a result...I will still keep a look-out for the carriers and collect them up 'cos maybe a Hedgehog rescue nearer to me will need them...Posie.. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
