| | | Badger in Broad Daylight We came across this small badger while walking Offa's Dyke path. Don't think I've ever seen a live badger before but this one looked quite small compared to the ones I've seen that have been hit by cars so maybe a young one? It was still fairly early in the afternoon so wondered why he was out in broad daylight.

Shortly after we took these we were walking down the hill when he came haring over the ridge towards us, stopped about 3m away with a look of shock, turned tail and waddled off again at a pace. Of course not quick enough to get the camera out for that one.

I think Artdemole's right a youngster out seeing whats what. I was lucky to see a full grown badger in the middle of the day in a woodland ride a few years ago. I was walking up the path keeping nice & quiet (doing a bird survey) and there happened to be a fallen tree across the path, I hopped up to cross over it and I was confronted with a badger on the other side, I don't know who was more shocked him or me!
Its really good that you got to see a young fella out and about though.

| | | Re: Badger in Broad Daylight I see them quite often. I even found places where they lie up above ground - bedding at the base of a tree. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
