Maybe I got the size wrong then it was weasel like.
Cheers aeshna, | Hi Kayleigh
Don't know why but when I see Weasels running I always feel they look like pencils bouncing across the ground (like mice they don't really appear to be running)! If it was rat size then it certainly wasn't a weasel but if mouse size then probably was:-)! It can be difficult to see their colour properly because they move so fast.
Rat size sounds more like a Stoat that do appear to run properly but they are usually obviously brown. So move up to a Ferret, too big?
All the best

| | | Re: What mustelid If it was grey with a wispy tail like a squirrel I'd suggest that a skinny baby squirrel is more likely than an edible dormouse. Certainly an edible dormouse is no longer in the body than a squirrel.
Faiing that a baby mink? They can be found in greyish colours.
