| | | Fox dozing Hello,
Following the hedgerow around a local meadow last evening I spied this fox dozing in the sun. The meadows are circled by flattened grass of fox trackways but I was surprised to meet one asleep and approach so closely nonetheless.
Thanks for looking, Rob

| | | Re: Fox dozing Nice photo, but... are you sure it wasnt dead?!
Seems unlikely anyone would be able to get so close to a sleeping animal in a setting such as that. I would expect any animal to be wary of sleeping in the open (as opposed to in the safety of it's den) and thus to be sleeping quite lightly. |

A few seconds after this photo I clicked my tongue hoping for a portrait but was too slow on the button - the fox was away into the hedgerow like a rocket!
It's not the first time I have approached so closely. Here's another from May 2009...
I'll take your incredulity as a compliment to my stalking skills!

| Rightly so!
The second photo is simply amazing, that should be on display or in a book somewhere! |
