| | | Dead Badger Why is it you see road kill Badger nothing is ever eating it, deer and rabbits gone within a couple of days having been eaten by all sorts of birds and mammals, badgers there for weeks slowly decaying. |

It's quite simple really ... badgers (in common with other mustelids) have an incredibly thick hide ... so thick that even in a road accident, the skin is rarely split open.
So most of our native carrion eaters just can't get into the body cavity, and you'll notice that only the softer tissue in the areas around the eyes and nostrils are consumed.
