| | | That time of year again Hi
I have a young jackdaw in my garden and adults are calling and swooping down to feed it.
A neighbour called me as it was out in the street and we have so many cats out there.
So I went against advice and moved it to my back garden.
Bird doing ok but cat not amused to be locked in.
Bird is flying a bit and has worked out how to drink from the pond and nibble the shoots of my young plants.
It's a privilege to watch, so close up.

| | | Re: That time of year again Just wondered how long it's likely to be here before flying off?
I hope it's not just being lazy
It's still very windy, so, I suppose that might be an issue.
Poor cat's not too pleased.
Sorry, I'm not sure why this duplicated. Please delete it if poss.

Yes, cat in garden! Chased it off and filled in hole in fence but afraid I scared the adult off too.
My cat still not pleased.... |

| | | Re: That time of year again A friend who is working on my Morris Minor had to use a loud drill in the garden yesterday and got attacked by an adult jackdaw!
Youngster was fed before bed ok.
At 7.52 thismorning it was up on the fence then hopped onto neighbours shed.
With a few flaps of the wings and a loud 'chaaah' away it flew.
I'm so glad I saw it fly.
A real Treat.
Cat happy :-) | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
