| | | What made these droppings !?!?!
When I got up this morning, I found the above dropping by the skirting board by the door in our Lounge, and I am worried what it is!
My husband thinks I have taken leave of my senses, and is convinced it was brought into the house either on a shoe!!! or on the wheels of our pram - he could be right?!! I have got it into my head that the house is infested with some pest.
I have checked all the cupboards etc and can find no other evidence of rats/mice etc, but we have an almost 1 year old little boy who is crawling and into everything, so I want to be sure there is nothing untoward sharing our house with us.
Any ideas what animal they came from? and are there any other signs I should be looking out for which would ring alarm bells that we have a problem that needs dealing with???? |

It could well have come in on pram wheel, but, it was perfect & not squished as if it had been brought into the house "on" something? |

| | | Re: What made these droppings !?!?! Well, to reassure you on the mouse/rat front, those mammals tend to make a pile of small pellets. 4-5 cm is too large.
I still think bird, especially if you can see seeds. Bird and mammal droppings can look similar sometimes, and if you're wheeling a pram or pushchair in and out you can bring in all sorts. (Says the woman who brought in an entire nest of earwigs last night with her wellies.)
A bit off the wall, but it's not a dried up slug, is it? |

It was definitely a dropping, it was dark brown & you could see bits in it. My husband took our son round the park, where they have a section housing rabbits & a whole host of birds & other small mammals, so just hoping it got in that way.
I have had a good look round & can see no more anywhere, but still tempted to get some traps. The thought of it makes my skin crawl |

Mummy2010 - I know it's easy to say but I wouldn't get too alarmed about this. Keep your eyes open for anything similar and let us know if you do.
We share our house with two dogs and at the moment, ticks are the bane of our life. Despite searching the dogs every day, there's always one or two that miss the inspection and this morning, one dropped on the floor and I found another on the pup.
Our three grandchildren live two doors away and the little lad is slightly older than your son. He's into everything and handles stuff that must increase his gut flora!
I'm sure there's no need to worry about this, whatever it is has probably found its way into your house on a shoe, clothing or similar, especially if your son has been to the park.
Vole-woman is right about rats and mice, it's definately not a dropping from one of those. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
