| | | So easy to be mistaken Mrs Tringa and I had an early morning walk in a local park yesterday.
It was good to hear and see some of the the summer visitors - chiffchaff, blackcap.
The highlights were a ring necked parakeet, a very brief view of a kingfisher and this one sitting in the trees by the river.
Then we turned towards a sound in the river to get a glimpse of a sleek dark brown body coming out of the river and disappearing into the undergrowth.
Mink, we thought, as we have seen them swimming in the river before, but a few minutes later we spotted a very wet squirrel making its way along a branch!

Nice Little Egret.

Lovely shot of the Egret Dave.

| | | Re: So easy to be mistaken I'm guessing if took a tumble. A couple of years ago I was in the Mall and heard a thump followed by a squeak and turned to see a somewhat stunned squirrel in the middle of the road.
After a few seconds it headed for the park. I assume it had lost its footing.
Fortunately it was one of the days when streets are closed to traffic to allow cyclist to cycle easily in central London. If it had been a normal day the squirrel could have been more than just stunned.
Bit lucky with the egret shot - really struggling not to let the whites blow completely. First time I have a good view of those amazing feet.
