I'd go for hedgehog. There would definately be fish scales etc if it was otter.

A neigbour of mine has some night time video footage of what he thought was an otter taking a baby duckling from his 'lake' a couple of years ago, so maybe it is otter. | Sorry to intrude but let's hope he doesn't have footage of you sniffing poo as well. lol.

Had a hedgehog in my garden last year and that looks like the poo it was leaving about my garden.

I agree with the others that have suggested that it's hedgehog poo. Perhaps a neighbour is leaving out fish-flavoured cat food for the local hogs?

Well I am thrilled if it is a hedgehog! nearest neigbour is across a very big field, but i guess hedgehogs can walk a long way! with the lighter nights I will keep my eyes open for it.
