| | | Looking for microscopic pic of badger's hair Hi folks,
Does anyone know of a webpage or book that has a photo or drawing of a badger's hair under the microscope.

I'm roughly recalling a memory of a book that is about identifying animal hair using a micrscope and the shape of the scales on the hairs - possibly also using gelatine inprints of the hair but the detail of this book hasn't come to me yet....... |

I could probably snap the two badger pages and email then to you if you wish, if you can't get a copy.

It sounds like the newer volumes above will meet your needs, but let me know if you want me to dig it out. |

| | | Re: Looking for microscopic pic of badger's hair Firstly, thanks to all for for your help.
I have managed to locate a copy of Hair of West-European Mammals at £30. However (at the moment) I really only need photos of badger's hair. So Henrya, if you could email me a snap of the 2 pages I'd be most grateful.

| | | Re: Looking for microscopic pic of badger's hair Well nightshade, when I'm out with my dog I collect animal hairs that I find on brambles, barbed wire etc and photograph them under the microscope (I also photograph insects, flowers, lichen and fungi). I keep a record of where and when I found the hair and I just need confirmation of id and a reference I can quote for the badger hair. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
