At this time of the year Hares are very active during the hours of daylight and it is a great time to see them. Many are pretty love struck and can be easily approached.
I found this little fella yesterday morning and got to within just a few metres from him.

Excellent shot snake, I think I know where this was too  I went a couple of months back and only saw them after dark

I had one very close at Elmley last Sunday. He was trotting right up to the cars and posing beautifully.

Lucky you!! Very handsome chap. The last time I saw one was about four years ago; I was driving home on the Stow road and saw a movement on the verge. Having seen deer there before crossing I slowed down luckily, and this large buck hare crossed safely in front of me, turned to look at me from the other side as much as to say "Thanks".
