compete whenever the territories overlap, glis glis have a
limited range but have pest status (although protected!)

It's locally common in this part of the Chilterns. I'm not sure whether our native Dormouse occurs here or not, but Grey Squirrels are a much bigger threat to them, as they take the hazelnuts before the Dormice get a chance. |
