Was this a bank vole?

It was on a bank lol. This was taken a few years back while fishing at a Loch in the borders. We were feeding it breadcrumbs, it was pretty bold and would come within a few feet of us. Later on we saw a few more chasing each other along the bank. I always just assumed they were field voles but thinking about it they were a little bigger than any field voles I've seen before.

You did well to snap him! Of the few experiences I've had, they are so fast that if you blink, you miss 'em!

I have tried and tried to separate the just form their appearance running around.
It is too unreliable to be sure. Size and appearance vary too much between individual Voles.
If you pick them up Bank Voles will bite you Field Voles don`t.
That seems to be consistent.
