| | | Bats, Windsor OK this is going to be a bit farfetched as it's quite localised..
I was in Windsor yesterday walking along the Thames, about 9pm, pitch black, and could see bats flying around in the lights. Any idea what they would be? I guess if someone knows that stretch of teh Thames I may get an answer

| | | Re: Bats, Windsor Quite a lot of species, can you describe the flight? size?
The fact they were drawn to light in quite an urban habitat is suggestive of one of the pipistrelles, (urban = common). |

| | | Re: Bats, Windsor Pipistrelles and possibly, being on the Thames, Daubentons. Borrow or buy yourself a bat detector. Seeing them is one thing, hearing the feeding buzz is absolutely amazing!

| | | Re: Bats, Windsor Can't give more description than what I've given I'm afraid, they literally just flew in and out of the light so fast.
Going out with a bat detector is one thing I've not done but would like to do, just not sure I can justify buying my own yet
