| | | Re: Help needed-what's under my shed ? If you set up the rat trap make sure the bate is secured so that the rat will have to tug at it, even use super glue to stick it down, this makes sure they can't nick the bate without setting it off. |

| | | Re: Help needed-what's under my shed ? you need to be careful with rat urine as weils disease (leptospirosis) can and does kill symptoms are the same as the flu, try peanut butter on the traps its what i use .
rats are also neophobic (scared of the new or change ) but i would keep any youngsters away from the place the rats are living , if in doubt contact a pest controller to assist you .
regards gazzer

| | | Re: Help needed-what's under my shed ? Aye, I'm aware of weils disease and we keep the young lad away from the shed at the bottom of the garden. The bait I've used is chocolate but, this hasn't worked yet so I'll try something else. The problem is, the rat tends to spend a lot of time outside where I can't leave a trap in case a bird goes to it, and it rarely goes into the shed. Maybe changing the bait will help things.
Is it true brown rats don't climb ? |

| | | Re: Help needed-what's under my shed ? they dont climb as well as mice , once seen a video of one useing a downspout to help it climb up a wall . i will some times put a trap outside and cover it with a box so the rat can get in but stops other animals from gaining access to it . try putting the trap on a rat run if you can
