The subjet is vast, what type of facts do you want? there are many scientific papers on impacts on seabird colonies, water voles, water fowl etc if thats what your after?
Mitigation usually involves trapping and then destroying the trapped animal. There is some evidence that the increas in otter numbers in displacing mink to some extend. Need more to go on im afraid. |

| | | Re: Mink in the Uk Mink in Devon have been a real problem for native wildlife since the releasing of them from mink farms by animal rights activists. Whilst I do not approve of Mink Farms, the deliberate releasing of mink to destroy native animals has got to have been the most stupid, naive and anti-animal rights action performed in the 1970's.
To help you in your quest how about the following websites: Devon Wild Fowlers Devon Water Vole Recovery Project Wild About Devon
You always contact the owners of the websites for more in depth info.

Mink were a problem in Devon long before animal rights activists released them in the 1970s, but I guess the myth will persist

So are you saying that the ALF mink releases had little impact on an already established large population?

| | | Re: Mink in the Uk Some mink did escape from the Mink Farms causing a problem prior to the animal rights activists releasing large significant numbers in the 1970's. But it is not a myth that the native animals suffered significantly after the animal rights activists actions.
