| | | Update on december thread about underweight hedgehog in garden Wow! I'm so thrilled. I have been putting out mealworms for the last couple of weeks only to open the back door first thing to find starlings eating them Tonight, for no apparent reason, I opened the back door at 11.00pm and there he was - a hog!! I'm so thrilled. The last hog I saw I posted about on the forum in December. I'd rescued many underweights in one week (obviously very, very late brood) and there was one that got away. I just couldn't catch him. He was very small. I like to think this little lad is the one who got away, who remembered, and came back:-) Totally made up. Grabbed my camera and here he is |

To keep the birds off the food you could use an upturned crate or plastic large tub with a hole about 5" x 4" cut into the side (with the sides smoothed off) so the hog can get in to get to the food but cats and birds won't. Also keeps food dry etc. |
