Chances are its a rat but, a possible bank vole .Don't worry about rats though great fun to watch |

Looks to me like a young rat look at the feet but the nose is round and a rats is more pointed..
I give up..

I'd stake good money on that being a vole. The nose shape is too rounded for a rat. Voles are lovely to watch, so you're lucky! |

Got to admit the pix from the OP are real cute so hope its not a rat.

Thank you all for your replies. I think the general consensus seems to be that it's a bank vole, so I'm going to go with that. Hopefully he'll make another appearance and I can get some better shots of him.
