I bought a couple of Batons and BatScan came free with them.

I seem to remember that it cost £70 ish when sold originally and it's now £17 plus delivery and VAT.

Wow £17, it was a lot more expensive than that when I looked at it a number of years ago. I like the Batbox Duet, clever piece of kit but my Pettersson D200 will have to do

It could possibly be far off or disrupted but its not typical, I would either leave it or upload the file to bat sound another good program for looking at calls in more detail (worth getting if you dont already have it).



Here is a more typical common pipistrelle, unfortunately ive not got many files on the computer at the moment. I will dig some out with some better examples of species in the near future.

Do you use a thermometer when you are recording, for air temperature, I am often surprised at the micro climates I encounter

Yes we always record the temperature throughout any survey with detectors. However its abit more awkward when using anabat as its a remote system, so we usually rely more on local forcasts for that. For example the bit of work I did earlier this week we could see a clear link to a warm spell in February to bat activity on the anabat in February.

Had a common pipistrelle in full sunlight foraging around 1pm today. Quite an amazing site, although not a particularly good sign.
