Bats in January?

I caught a glimpse of what appears to be a bat on some night-cam footage of badger that visits our garden. It seems very early for them so was interested in whether flying in January is common. The clip (which is here) was taken around 5am a couple of nights ago.

Some species like the pipistrelles often wake through hibernation and on warm winter nights hunt insects. Its not uncommon and is well documented. Other species like brown long eared sometimes wake and change hibernation sites through the winter if theirs becomes unsuitable. Alternatively bats do get disturbed at times despite their deep torpor and can become active although this is not good for the bat.

I wouldn't have described it as a warm night (the previous nights had been though so maybe that's why it was up and about). I appreciate the general infomration about their habits. Thanks!
