| | | pine marten numbers I was just wondering if anyone had any idea of the number of pine martens in the UK? And tips for observing them? Adorable creatures with lovely coats

| | | Re: pine marten numbers The Handbook of British Mammals gives the pre-breeding population for GB as c3650; the bulk in Scotland with under 100 in England + less than 50 in Wales. The population in Scotland at least appears to be expanding.
The only realistic way of getting a good chance of seeing one of these beautiful mustelids is to visit a baited site. I visited one with Speyside wildlife a couple of years back + had outstanding views of 3 as well as Badgers, Red Deer + Wood Mouse from the hide. Not guauranteed, but this sort of site is your best hope. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
