| | | repelling mice I have a mouse which usually lives under my shed, and if it stays there, then there is not a problem. However he or she is chewing the bottom of the shed door trying to get in. I have put a line of chili sauce along the chewed bit and I hope this will deter him, unless he is a Mexican mouse. What else keeps mice from chewing, any ideas? |

Realistically chilli wont make any difference if it wants to get in. Can you put a metal panel on the base of the door this should slow it down.
Additionally if it is becoming a serious problem then trapping may be an option. Although you would probably have to kill quite a few as they are so numerous they will keep coming back into an area. |

| | | Re: repelling mice I once read that popping a bit of wire wool into any holes is a good deterrent for rats and mice. Might be worth a try? |

| | | Re: repelling mice When the weather is fine I have a rabbit and Guinea pig in the shed so I don't think a sonic device would go down too good with them. I think I have found a metal strip I could use at the bottom of the door so if the chili sauce doesn't work thats the next step. |

| | | Re: repelling mice This morning the bottom of the door and the hot chili sauce show signs of being nibbled again so it must be a Mexican mouse. I'm moving on to plan B. |

Do you keep the pet food in the shed? its probably what they are after. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
