Giant Fox Killed

Having a quick look through the David Brear website Habitat I came across this Giant fox caught in Maidstone - Telegraph

Thats upset me The vets cat got killed so he had a fox put down - bravo!!! And if I told my kid to go and stand with the fox and smile happily she would just hit me

I agree, when I saw this it infuriated me . It killed his cat so the vet put it down, what a complete idiot. Who is this guy god? what gives him the right to do that. His cat shouldnt be roaming around in the first place. Then we get this kid smirking holding it up like a trophy. How can he even prove it was this fox? It amazes me that we have some many people in this country which seem to think that they are doing everyone a favour by controlling foxes, especially in situations like this. What do they thinks going to happen foxes are going to take over Britain .

I also seriously doubt foxes are going to start growing into huge animals.

Agree with everything you say Dogghound. I'm outraged. Just because the fox is wild can we all just walk up and kill it for doing some natural!! There would be hell to pay if someone killed his cat because it ate a bird of their feeder

It would have been more effective if perhaps it was considered for a zoo or even better transported to a more open wilder spaces - give it some sort of chance - instead of JUST DIE.

I'm just in shock that people can do this

And also as you say dogghound - how the hell did he know it was the fox!! even if it was - tough on the cat

I accept killing foxes in some circumstances i.e at sites with sensitive ground nesting birds etc, but draw the line when its to protect hens and in this case a cat. Also when its farmers/gamekeepers/landowners who do it just for the sake of doing it, like a beef farmer who lives near me.

Put his name into google you will see all the stories say "they presume" it was the fox. He also killed another one at the same time. they left the cat on the doorstep and went to bed, heard a comotion but thought nothing of it until they got up in the morning and the cat was dead!! - clever Vets mummy and daddy!!!! The only reason they presume its the fox is because they saw in later that evening.

Thank God he chose a veterinary career and not a medical one or many a poacher would be hung on his gibbet like the poor old fox.

I note the paper doesn't cite any genuine/identifiable zoologists, experts or scientific studies. Is that because the journalist has made this fact up?

The whole piece is structured so as to be as scare-mongering and provocative as possible. *Hey, stupid-people! Be afraid! Foxes as big as cars coming to YOUR GARDEN soon!*

Yet again some poor creature doing what is in its nature gets punished because of mans stupidity.

Not only the fox (if thats what it was) but the poor cat loose their lives very sad
