Thus you can, if you really must, shoot them in your own garden so long as you take adequate care that the projectile does not leave your property and that the gunshot does not unreasonably disturb your neighbours (the chances of anyone being granted a FAC for that purpose though are minimal) you can also cage trap or snare them and have the legally destroyed - but you cant poison them or shoot them with unsuitable weaponry like airguns or bows
you also cant shoot them in the street as you both do not have the permision of the landowner (Highways authority) and also discharging a firearm on a public highway (or indeed just having one uncased) is an offence under the fireams act

| | | Re: Giant Fox Killed Just scanning the comments below the story: 'Biggest Ever' fox caught in Britain: 4ft cat-killer trapped by vet | Mail Online
Hats off to the readers, who are a whole lot sharper than either the Mail or Jacoby imagined. Predictably there are a couple of stupid comments in there about "bringing back hunting with hounds because the fox is a nasty cruel killer" but the vast majority of people are sickened by what the vet did and by his and his friends' attempts to justify it. Looks as though their trophy-flaunting backfired just a tad. |

The lad in the photo has a different surname.

| | | Re: Giant Fox Killed It seems to me people wont be happy until we live in a sterile countryside with everything shot to oblivion I lost my chickens a couple of years back I didn't go out in search of revenge ,it was our fault and we fox proofed the run better.I can not see any reason that anyone should have to kill a fox but I am sure people will always think of something, to justify their bloodlust.I should imagine Mail readers were drooling at this item, shame on them and the man who proudly displayed what a macho man he was. Chances are the cat did not get killed by a fox at all. My cat lived to be 17 years having always been in the country with foxes about.I am a cat AND dog lover having 2 dogs. |

I know two people who lost pets to badgers last year, but no one's suggesting we're breeding marauding mutant brocks. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
