Thanks for the kind comments folks, got to admit it took several attempts. Firstly to answer a couple of questions asked they are in SW Scotland and yes they are near me. The location has been set up by a good friend and it's a nightmare track to get to. We don't often get snow in my area as it's near the coast so when it lay I went for it. First time I made the hike one squirrel came, but only for seconds & its backside was all I could see. Next two times in a lot of hours it was a no show and I almost threw the towel in. I heard a big thaw was predicted on Xmas day so I gave it one last shot. When I went up to my disappointment the snow was almost gone so I used a tub to collect all the snow around the site and created this spot you see in the photos. So I must confess it is more artificial than it actually looks. Still a lot of miles walked in bad terrain and so improvising got me the pics I wanted :-) |
