Grey Seal in the R.severn

Just caught the BBC news, a fisherman spotted and filmed a Grey Seal in the River Severn (N. of Worcs.) yesterday

They reckoned that it had followed fish for around 95 kilometers? up the river
It must like Salmon

I have seen seals in the lower severn between the 2 severn bridges at newpassage before.This year there is an explosion of small codling in the 1-2 pound mark all along the lower estuary.The seal May have followed these and then further up got a taste for salmon

.Although i am not sure if seals hunt just by sight only ?,if so the tidal lower severn would be a very hard hunting ground as the strong tidal currents create very muddy water as the tides rip across the mudflats.

The juv grey seal was rescued by Vale Wildlife Hospital & Rehabilitation Centre (founder - WAB member wildliferescuer), then subsequently transferred to West Hatch Wildlife Centre in Somerset for further treatment and rehab:
