| | | Re: Poo ID The colouring and texture looks like it could be hedgehog poo, but even my HUGE (1.6kg) blind permanent hoggy has never produced a deposit measuring 5-6 inches long, so I'd opt for cat scat in this photo. Unneutured tom cats are known to leave their territorial markings this way. |

| | | Re: Poo ID I think there could well be too much undigested vegetable matter for that to be cat. Wonder what other scatophiles think.

| | | Re: Poo ID The plot thickens?? The droppings are from about 6 week ago. It was left on our flags outside our holiday caravan in south lakes. There are no cats on the park or other houses withing miles! I agree there is undigested vegatable matter in there also. We do have Pole Cats popping upfrom time to time. Thanks for all the input. |

| | | Re: Poo ID Its a hedgehog, your size must be wrong. I know there isnt anything to compare it with but the impression doesnt look as thick as a thumb and 5-6inch long. A mustelid (polecat) would have more fur in its dropping resulting in a twisted scat, which would more than likely be deposeted on a grass tussock or mound, rather than a flagstone. This vegetation in the scat is possibly berry remains, which would also explain the texture and rich brown colour. |

| | | Re: Poo ID It might just be the random scat from a badger. To me, it has the appearance, colour, size, apparent consistency of a well laid 'un. Plenty of them in South lakes.
If this was coiled in a small dung pit, I think most would say badger.
Following Dogghounds comments it doesn't look to be that length to me either but if the size is as given there's not much chance it's a hedgehog.
