Pine Martin

I have just come back from a weeks holiday in Kilfinnan, which is just South of Fort Augustus. I put out a jam sandwich every evening and this pine martin came and visited just three foot away from the large lounge window. The outside light went on as soon as there was any movement but the pine martin was completely unaffected by this. This allowed views of it I wouldn't have thought possible.

Lovely shots, the only Pine Marten I've seen was one evening one ran across the A9 in front of me just south of Inverness.

Great photos, Dave.

I used to think Pine Martens were shy animals, but the one(or ones) I have seen seem unaffected by the presence of humans. A bit like the foxes in the back garden here in east London - as long as you are not too close and they know where you are they are quite relaxed.

need to check it out next time i'm there. about once a week i drive from Clunes to there ,picking up litter on the great glen way and doing safety assessment!!

Superb photo. I was lucky to see my first Pine Martens last year from a baited hide area near Aviemore + had equally good views of 3 animals, but my photos were nowhere as good as yours!
