| | | Fairly sure these are badger prints... I took these whilst out walking looking for prints etc yesterday. I'm fairly sure they are badger but would appreciate confirmation from the experts.
Do they look a little small? Is this possibly this years' young?

looks like there are too few toes to be badger (badgers have five) - my guess would be cat, but I'm sure someone else will know for sure.

I agree cat, badgers show 5 digits, sometimes the fifth digit doesnt register but in that case the hind pad would be diagnostic as it would be larger and more kidney shaped. You can also see what appears to be a claw mark on the 1st photo directly linked to the toe, in a badger this claw mark would be further forward and not linked. |

| | | Re: Fairly sure these are badger prints... An important thing to remember with tracks in snow is that they tend to expand when they have been exposed to the sun. A track made before dawn can become twice the size after two or three hours of sun light on a clear day.
