| | | Re: Harry Hedgehog If he’s wobbling he’ll need direct heat. If you haven’t got a hot water bottle, fill a plastic pop/milk bottle with hot water, wrap in a tea towel and place next to the hog, taking care to position it so that it won’t roll onto him, and also that he has enough space in the box to move away from the heat if he wants.
Has he been eating/drinking prior to this? |

| | | Re: Harry Hedgehog Our posts crossed! That's a relief! To err on the side of caution, keep the lamp on overnight, or fill up a bottle with hot water (will need changing when turns cold). When they're cold they won't eat and can go downhill very quickly at that age. |

| | | Re: Harry Hedgehog I forgot about the pop bottle trick. Thank you for reminding me. I have had him wrapped in a towel and tucked in my fleece as the lamp didn't seem to be helping much.
He has been eating Wednesday and Thursday night. He just didn't seem right tonight but now he is tucking in. |

| | | Re: Harry Hedgehog Harry made it through Friday night and is now in the safe hands of the wildlife centre. Now it is up to him and them. They are going to contact me in the spring when it is time to release the hedgehogs so that I can have a couple here for release.
I wish there was a centre closer to home as it is a 40 mile round trip or in my case 47 miles as I always get lost on the way there.
I now have the postcode so I can use my husbands sat nav. I think I need it. |
