| | | Longworth spares and repairs Does anyone know where to get spare parts for Longworths, such as springs and treadles. I know Alana sell spares, but the springs are £4 and treadles £8, which seems ridiculous (they also sell the traps for £20 more than their competitors, so they seem pricey in general). Does anyone do them cheaper?
I have an assortment of aged traps that need repairs, both the new spring type and the old wire-tension type. Is it possible to use a spring on the old type to 'update' them? Or does it need a new treadle with the drilled hole?
Some of the traps have also been knawed along the tunnel, making a bit of a hole. Can these also be repaired?

I have seen Longworths that have been gnawed, with metal plates soldered (or possibly araldited) over the gaps.
As for springs and treadles, possibly talking to a technical college metalworking shop might turn up a helpful technician who could craft sutable replacements for a song - or even for the challenge.
