| | | Re: Could this be badger poo? In my experience badgers rarely poo in the open. They almost always dig small scrapes -a bit like a rabbit scrape- to poo in.
When ferreting one has to feel all small scrapes in the area round the rabbit bury as they may be rabbit "boltholes" to be netted.
It is not unknown for a ferreter to put his hand in a scrape only find that he has put his hand in a badgers lavatory. I speak from experience..
Otherwise it could well be badger poo. |

| | | Re: Could this be badger poo? Thanks to everyone, I did think there was a water vole sized burrow hole in the bank which was how I noticed the poo at the side of it, having said that the section of canal I was looking at has been devoid of water for ages so I wasn't really likely to find water vole evidence. So the badgers are digging instead. Great stuff.

Shirl | Always worth checking, they can live in quite dry ditches, infact in continental Europe they often live well away from water. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
