I'm more inclined to say stoat due to the brown colouring but not sure whether I'm imagining some traces of white underneath it or if it's the glare from the edge of the log. |

| | | Re: A poll for a polecat? Very hard to tell because the photo could be very deceptive, but its fur looks much too light for a polecat - should be dark chocolate brown. That said, something don't look right for stoat either.

What is it? Absolutely no idea. Possibly an unusually intensely red sandy ferret but by no means certain. It`s not really an ID pic. |

I reckon that what I first thought was a small rounded ear is just nothing and the fox ears are folded back and ever so blurred.
