There's definitely something strange about this story. |

| | | Re: Another 'Fox' Attack? Evening all,
Impossible to say fox, in my opinion. I wonder what he was doing out there - the victim of an assult earlier in the evening perhaps? He was said to appear to have been punched...
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: Another 'Fox' Attack? There are recorded incidents of domestic dogs eating owners' faces, toes etc. (Just google.) So more likely to be a dog roaming loose if the injuries were caused by an animal at all. |

If you study both reports, you will find that the only REAL data available is the Police Quote: A police spokesman said: "Lothian and Borders Police can confirm it is carrying out inquiries after a 37-year-old man was found in the Inveresk area with injuries to his face and hand.
"These injuries may have been caused by animals." EVERYTHING else in those reports is pure conjecture.
Worse, is that in both reports appears; Councillor John Caldwell, who represents Musselburgh and Carberry, said: “I stay not far from that area and the only animals around capable of doing such a thing are foxes.”
So some local Councillor reaches a (foxy) conclusion you might well hear from a bloke down the pub, yet it is deemed to be irrefutable because he is a Local Councillor?? Was he there to witness this attack?
How bizarre.
It should also be noted that the "Deadline report" adds:
The [police] spokesman added that they were “fairly confident” the man had been attacked by a fox.
Funny how the BBC did not include this in their report. I wonder if this alleged statement would stand up to any scrutiny.
Hmm, who to believe - a "Deadline" Journalist, a bloke down the pub (er, sorry, Local Councillor), the BBC?
Decisions, decisions ..... |
