| | Identity crisis! Hi!
I've been doing some camera-trapping in a woodland in East Sussex and have captured this species which I'm having a little difficulty identifying. Please take a look and let me know what you think: Nathan ROBERTS :: Blog
It'd be great to hear your thoughts, as it can't surely be what I think it is?!
Thanks!

| | | Re: Identity crisis! I'll go for fox on that. The legs are too long for a badger and too spindly for a boar. It's facing right and you can see the back legs and the brush on the left. |

| | | Re: Identity crisis! muntjac?
The stance looks about right especially if the leaf litter is quite deep or there is a slight dip in the woodland floor
Oh god just read the actual text and what I thought was a head is a tail!!
I'm changing to fox then!

| | | Re: Identity crisis! Fox - the tail region looks so large.
Good thread.
EDIT - I think I might like Gill's suggestion better.

| | | Re: Identity crisis! Thanks everyone for your input. I was just very surprised that the animal had moved from the left side of the frame to the position which you see without it being photographed earlier, particularly as grey squirrels have been detected and photographed at that distance previously. I was therefore looking at this photo as an animal facing left and moving out from behind the tree on the right.
But yes, a definite fox. Problem solved - thanks! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
