So now is the time to start hinting for Christmas, they are relatively cheap when compared to Video games machines and all the stuff that keeps you in at night putting on pounds.
Break the mould, get a detector by hook or by crook into your stocking ready for next year.

However, the suggestion of a bat detector as a present is a very good one.

I had thought that these would have been prohibitively expensive, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found this:

I have the older version of this detector, it works very well and I quite often lend it out to keen people I meet. I think the Avon Bat Group have a couple of dozen that they lend out to responsible groups so it is robust and gives very good results, ideal for a first timer or even a grizzled vetran.
