Firstly, it's all in proportion - young rats have big paws like puppies! So it looks like a full-grown animal.
Tail is fine for Wood Mouse.
And you can definitely see a bit of the sandy Wood Mouse colouring on the flank, along with a clear demarcation with a snowy white underside.. |

| | | Re: Caught This I agree, its a wood mouse,the tail is too hairy for a rat and the ears are too large in proportion to the skull.
